Implementation of key distribution schemes on real sensor network nodes

    Get PDF
Wireless Sensor Network is a network type that consists of small sensor devices. The communication between these devices must be secured in case of an attack. Sensor devices have to share a secret key for secure communication. There are several key distribution schemes for wireless sensor networks in the literature. The most common key distribution scheme is the basic scheme which is proposed by Eschenauer and Gligor. Basic scheme has three phases; Key Predistribution, Shared Key Discovery and Path-key Establishment. Ergun proposed an alternative phase to Path-key Establishment, called Key Transfer phase. To the best of our knowledge, there is no real node implementation of the basic scheme. In this thesis, we implemented all three phases of the basic scheme and Ergun's Key Transfer phase on a real sensor device. We use TelosB devices, which have 10kB RAM, 1 MB ash memory, a microcontroller and RF interface. We design owcharts for each phase, create packet structures, implement in NesC programming language and test the implementation. We analyze the results using processing time, code space and memory usage metrics. We show that Key Transfer phase is more e cient than Path-key Establishment phase

Patterns in model engineering 2015 - A workshop summary

The Patterns in Model Engineering (PAME) workshop5 was held on 21 July 2015 as part of the Software Technologies: Applications and Foundations (STAF) conference, in L'Aquila, Italy. The workshop focused on identification, analysis and presentation of patterns across all aspects of modelling and Model-Driven Engineering (MDE), including patterns for modelling, metamodelling, transformation, and in constraints. The workshop featured three invited presentations by Jordi Cabot (ICREA, Spain), Daniel Varro (BME, Hungary) and Antonio Cicchetti (MDH, Sweden), five full papers, and a significant discussion and debate about the roles that patterns can play in modelling. This paper summarises the workshop discussion and highlights some of the key research challenges in the field

    Cholecystoduodenal Fistula related Acute Cholecystitis

Cholecystenteric fistulas are abnormal formations that occur spontaneously between the gallbladder and the gastrointestinal tract. Asymptomatic cases can be diagnosed incidentally as well as during surgery in patients with acute abdomen diagnosis. We present a case of cholecystoduodenal fistula detected in a patient who underwent laparoscopic exploration with a preliminary diagnosis of gallbladder perforation. Cholecystoduodenal fistulas are difficult to diagnose preoperatively and are very rare hepatobiliary emergency surgery cases

Educational Experiences of Educational Administration Master Students

Educational Administration graduate programs are among the programs that students frequently apply at state and foundation universities. The main purpose of the programs, which are generally preferred by undergraduates of the Faculties of Education, is to train the required education administrators. Being a graduate of Educational Administration programs have little contribution to be appointed as an educational administrator at state schools. This situation arouses interest in the aims, expectations and achievements of the students who direct to the field of Education Administration in order to receive graduate education. The aim of this study is to make a general evaluation and make a variety of suggestions for the field of Educational Administration and its programs by examining aims and gains of graduate students attending the Educational Administration graduate programs at the state and foundation universities. The study was designed with a phenomenological approach and included 21 students, 12 from state universities and 9 from foundation universities. The data collected by the semi-structured interview form were analyzed by content analysis. Generally, participants stated that they started graduate education for personal and professional purposes. Various differences were observed among the participants from state and foundation universities. The most obvious one among those differences is aims of participants while choosing this field. Findings of the study emphasize necessary formations on training and recruitment of educational administrators

WOS: 000302001100002In this study, improvement of pole fresh bean populations gathered from the Middle Black Sea Region was attempted using pure-line selection method under greenhouse conditions. The aim was to regain the populations that have lost their distinctive typical properties through breeding and bring them into use of local farmers. Fresh pole bean populations collected from Carsamba Plain of Middle-Black Sea region in 2003 were evaluated in terms of their agricultural characteristics under greenhouse conditions. In 2006 observation gardens were established in greenhouses; pre-yield and yield experiments were performed in the following 3 years (2007-2009). Eleven lines were selected according to UPOV criteria. In addition to best phenological and morphological traits being presented by C4-3. TK9-4 and TK43-4 lines in comparison to the control varieties; C4-3, TK43-4, L4 and TK50-3 lines outperformed the control varieties in terms of yield following stage 1 and stage II regional yield experiments on 11 lines between 2010-2011, and certain lines were selected to be candidates for certification.TAGEMGida Tarim Ve Hayvancilik BakanligiThis research was supported by TAGEM as part of a project titled "Reclaiming Local Dwarf fresh Bean Populations with Selection Method and Improving New Bean Types with Hybrid resistance against Anthracnose Disease". The research was conducted at Agricultural Research Institute of Black Sea Region, Samsun. We would like to thank Assoc. Prof. Muge Turet Sayar for her valuable criticisms during the preparation of the manuscript
